An “L-5 Photos – wanted” page has been added to the GALLERY area of the website HERE. The page can also be accessed going to the Galleries link on the menu bar and selecting it from the drop-down menu. There is a short “blog” about this new feature of the website followed by five thumbnail images of photos that we know exist but we don’t know who has them. These pictures were sold on a well-known internet auction site that everybody loves and hates. We would like to obtain good high-resolution digital scans of those pictures to add to our photo archive that will soon be active on this website. Unfortunately, most of the images in our collection – well over 1,000 – were lost when the hard drives on separate computers crashed and couldn’t be revived. Although professional forensic recovery (very $$$) netted some, the majority were corrupted by physical damage to the disks. Please help us rebuild! Our loss is your loss too.
Vintage photos wanted
Dear friends, I lost several hundred digital scans of vintage prints – many one-of-a-kind – due to a catastrophic hard drive failure, so I am hoping to rebuild my archive. If you have any original vintage prints or negatives, please share! Not only will they be added to an expanding archive and be posted on this website for everyone’s enjoyment, they will further our historical knowledge of the L-5.
Some specific photos I’d like to locate are displayed below. They were sold on a well-known auction site sometime in the past ten years and the watermarked thumbnail copies you see were made at that time. If you are now the owner of one or more of these vintage prints, please share digital copies or loan them to me and I will scan them for you at high resolution. I can also digitally clean up old photos and negatives and have a lot of experience doing so, so.
