  Hello fellow L-5 Pilots and restorers,
  
  Its my first post here. Im a SOPA member since nearly two years and I’m finishing the restoration of my L-5G 45-35016 here in Germany. I bought the plane, which is an former CAF plane, from Sam Taber.
  
  A few days ago i was contacted by a friend from the Netherlands that he found something on a digital marketplace which is maybe interesting for me. I got some pictures and immediately bought it.
  
  It is an original Engine Cover 76-00195 for the Stinson L-5. It seems to be never used because there are no oil spots or something which leads to an extensive usage in the field. Of course it needs some TLC because it has some holes and paint spots.

  Im afraid it will be pretty expensive here in germany. For example the boots for the landing gear cost 170$ each when i had them made. The quality is amazing but the price is awful.
  
  For a piece like the cowling cover the price will be way to high.
  
  If the club has good sources in the USA let me know. I would be happy to provide my piece as a sample.

  You may recall that I have been working with a seamstress to make most of the L-5 canvas items using OD canvas cloth from Beachwood Canvas. I understand that the engine cover may not be OD canvas but more of a waterproof material. If you are willing, I can work with Amelia to see if she can reproduce this engine cover.

  Hi Charles, i would send my Cover to you and you can use it as a sample. Maybe there are other SOPA Member who would like to join. When the reproduction is done just send mine back.
