Looking for Vintage Engine Overhaul Shop in the U.S. (L-5 T-6, etc.)

Hi folks,

We’re based in Switzerland and operate a Stinson L-5. A friend of mine also owns an T-6. In the past, we’ve always sent these engines to Dachsel GmbH in Germany for overhaul. We were very happy with their work — especially the father, who had deep knowledge and experience with these old engines.

Unfortunately, the younger generation has now taken over the business and no longer works on vintage engines like these. Since the father won’t be around forever, we’re concerned that this specialized knowledge will eventually be lost.

In the long run, we’ll need to find a new shop. We honestly don’t know of any other company in Europe with the same level of expertise that’s also FAA-certified.

So we’re now looking across the pond:
Can you recommend any reliable engine overhaul shops in the U.S. that are experienced with vintage engines like the O-435 or others from that era? Ideally, we’re looking for good craftsmanship without completely outrageous pricing.
