Greetings! We’re glad you would like to join our group which currently has more than 100 members – most of them L-5 owners. Becoming a member of the Sentinel Owners & Pilots Association for the first time or transferring from the L-5 Forum on the Groups.io website is a simple, but not quite instant process.
Step One: We screen all applicants. Get pre-approved by filling out the form below on which you will briefly explain who you are and why you want to join. If you are affiliated with a particular L-5, be sure to mention the registration, serial number or other identifying information. If you’re SURE that we already know you, just say “Howdy “.
Step Two: Send the form and then wait for a reply. It may take two or three days, but in most cases you will hear back within 24 hours.
Step Three: Our reply will direct you to a subscription page where you will choose a membership level and payment type. As soon as the payment is processed you will be given access proportionate to the level you have chosen. The membership levels are briefly explained below.
MEMBERSHIP LEVELS
Regular Member (Level 3 ): A Level 3 membership provides full access to the L-5 forum, including private messaging to other members. It also provides full access to the Resources area that includes the reference library and knowledge base, the Buy/Sell marketplace, L-5 History Journal and other blogs as well as your own personal blog page if you desire one. This level is primarily intended for L-5 owners but others are welcome. Please note that there is a 5-year subscription also available at this level. See Other Options below.
Supporting Member (Level 2): A Level 2 membership provides access to the L-5 History blog and discussion forums but private messaging with other members is disabled. There is limited access to the reference library and knowledge base but the Buy/Sell Marketplace is inaccessible. You do get your own blog page if you want one and can read the L-5 History blog and other articles that are occasionally posted. Level 2 is primarily intended for non-owners who fly an L-5 owned by a museum or club.
Associate Member (Level 1): A Level 1 membership allows read-only access to the L-5 forum and history blog, and limited access to the reference library. This level is intended for young L-5 enthusiasts with a strong interest in the airplane and its history, so there’s still plenty to learn and do here for a low fee.
Visitor Pass (Level 0 ): This option allows entry as a registered user with very limited access to the website features. It will allow you to see basic information about the L-5 and become more familiar with the club and what we offer.
Group Membership ( Mixed levels): The group memberships option is offered to Air Museums, EAA Chapters, CAF Wings and other organizations who have multiple members with an interest in the Stinson L-5. A group subscription provides 1 regular membership with full Level 3 access and 10 associate memberships with Level 1 access. Please note that the associate members must be added to the system manually. For larger groups, contact us for pricing.
Other Options: We also offer Lifetime and 5-Year Level-3 memberships, and for the philanthropists out there, five levels of donations can be made in increments of $10, $25, $50, $100 and $250). You can read more about these on the subscription page.
