Just got a knob that I ordered from Fair Radio. Looks to be correct for the antenna reels and is a heck of a lot cheaper than the one from Digi-Key or Mouser.
P/N is KNF-6, has a hole for a 1/4″ shaft. Priced at $7.50. Same one at D or M is around $34.

Bill: I’m slowly working on a set of drawings and going to see if Sam will do a redline check against his known original one. The one I was making measurements off of, was a replica and had some obvious issues. Most are easy to correct, but one is requiring some hardware chasing that may force some changes with other parts.
I’ve got a photo of the lower mast entry fitting with some dimensions and will have that drawing with the package. Sean has had some upper mast fittings made, but wasn’t sure if he had any left. I dropped him an email a while back, but have not had a response yet. I’m having some connection troubles with my primary email client, and am having to send them thru a secondary method.

Hi Craig and Bill, I will help any way I can. Just sing out. The assy I have is the mast with head , connecting flex section and the reel and base. No rear ceramic or rudder mount or drag cone. This unit had been in an L-4 so the base plate clamps , for mounting to airframe don’t apply to L-5s. A guy came to the shop one day and said I have some old radio stuff do you want it? ( he was cleaning out the garage of his brother). I saw a section of a mast head ,AVA-120, and said yes:). I tried to pull it from the box but it would not come out because IT WAS HOOKED TO THE REEL ! I had to sit down:). ST.

Thanks Sam and Craig,
Let me know if I can help chase hardware or anything. Sam, that was some awesome luck to have it all fall in your lap like that!
