Jim,
I’m subscribed to all the forums, but do not get emails when a topic is started or commented unless I started or commented on the topic. Is there a way to be subscribed to receive emails on new topics?

John,
Good question because I have been meaning to post something about this issue.
If you look at the upper right corner of the forum box it will either say “Subscribe” or “Unsubscribe”. It’s not a very large button so it is easy to overlook, especially if using a smart phone. If it says “Subscribe”, then tap on it once and it will change to “Unsubscribe”, meaning you are now subscribed and will receive email notifications. If you no longer want to receive notifications , then tap it again and it will change back to “Subscribe”. Unfortunately you have to do this for each of the forums because there is no “select all” option.
Also, below the forum window at the left is a box you can check that says “Notify Me of Follow-Up Replies”. If you check that box then you will receive replies by email to anything you post or respond to, whether or not you are subscribed to that forum.
I hope I stated that clearly.

p.s. Many people think that when it says “Subscribe” that it means they are already subscribed to the forum. This is not the case. I should probably change it to say “Join Forum” and “Leave Forum” so it is a bit clearer but I haven’t figured out how to edit it.

Jim,
All the forums say “unsubscribe” at the top. I just did a search thru my emails and I stand corrected. It appears I do get emails on new posts. Apparently my CRS is progressing.
Thanks,
John

Jim,
I figured out what I was trying to say about replies on the forums. I get the initial post but no follow up posts unless I reply to the post. I don’t know if there is a selection on my end or yours to get replies to the different posts without participating in the post.

John: At the bottom left of the posting window, below the Tags window, there is a check box that is labeled “Notify me….” If you check that box, on your initial post, I think it should give you an email for every post after that. Same if you are not the original poster, but adding content to a thread.

Craig is correct which its the same answer as the second part of my last reply. Check the “Notify Me” box . Now that there are several posts here, scroll all the way down to the last message and then you will see it.

It’s not a problem with my posts or any that I respond to, it is the ones I do not participate in that there is no followup email. Many times there are posts by others that are of interest, but I have nothing to contribute but I’m interested in learning. Those posts only send the initial post and not the followup posts by others. I guess I’m lazy and looking for away to avoid logging in and looking through the posts.
Will it notify me on posts of others if I just check notify me without submitting a post?

I think I discovered the obvious. You have to subscribe to each topic. If you are subscribed to the forum, you receive the initial topic post then you have to click the subscribe button for each topic in that forum that is of interest to receive replies.

That is correct. It is what I tried to explain before but apparently failed to make clear. I’m glad you’ve figured it out. JG
