Here is what an original Mallory GP-1 grounding plug looks like courtesy of Steve Yandik’s G model.
Here is another photo, courtesy of Sam T.
I used the MS90298-2 receptacle.

Matt-
Please email me your contact information to tcrsftdv65@yahoo.com
i’ll email some photos and call you. I am traveling this week I will call you after I arrive back in my Texas home. I am ferrying my L2 from California to Texas. It may take four days or more than a week depending on weather.

Hi Phil-
Looking forward to receiving the engine cover and will correspond via email. I’ll be glad to make additional covers for others.
Thank you!
Charles
Phil-
You may recall that I have been working with a seamstress to make most of the L-5 canvas items
using OD canvas cloth from Beachwood Canvas. I understand that the engine cover may not be OD canvas but more of a waterproof material. If you are willing, I can work with Amelia to see if she can reproduce this engine cover.

Phil-
This is a great find! Congratulations. Are you going to have reproductions made?

Regarding the ceramic insulators IN-83, I ordered from Isolantite item #1084, which is a very close replacement. I also ordered the IN-84 insulator, item #503, for my G model from them. They are the original vendor for our L-5 and was quite interested in my airplane and installation of the SCR-274 radios.
Mary Lou Hall was my contact at Isolantite.

FWIW- I also installed the McFarlane’s mixture cable in my G model several years ago. Only an L-5 purist would know it isn’t original. After reading Sam’s response, I am now thinking of installing a 6-32 screw, just to confuse the purists!
Looks fantastic! Lot’s of effort to ensure an accurate restoration. Hang in there and carry on! Charles
